Downtown
"My first choice was Downtown, because the light and the shadows reminded me a lot of New York ... Certainly the people downtown are a bit more stressed than on the beach and maybe the dress code and philosophy of life are different, but in the end, the encounters are the same. Always warm and authentic."
Bondi Beach
"I thought about whether there is a place in Sydney that brings people together and stands like no other for the Australian way of life ... In Australia, the beach is a neutral and peaceful zone where it becomes clear how the attitude of Australians comes to life ... Normally, I'm not the type to sit on the beach in the sun, but I felt incredibly connected to this place, as if I had been there before in another life."
Newtown
"[Newtown is] an alternative district where religion and sexual orientation play no role. You meet many young people who have come to Sydney to feel a little bit of freedom. You see a lot of art...especially street art. It could also be described as a catwalk of young alternatives and creatives. Live and let live is the motto here."
